Quality and standards

Steel that's built right, and records that prove it.

Built to the standard

We weld and fabricate to the New Zealand and Australian standards and to ABS requirements where a job calls for them.

Commonly referenced standards on steel jobs in New Zealand include AS/NZS 5131 for the fabrication and erection of structural steelwork, NZS 3404 for the design of steel structures, and AS/NZS 1554 for structural steel welding. We'll confirm which apply to your project at quote stage.

  • Welding to AS/NZS and ABS, in all positions
  • Welding procedures and welder qualifications matched to the specification
  • Fit-up and dimensional checks before welding
  • Visual inspection as a minimum on every weld
  • Support for third-party inspection and non-destructive testing
  • Records and handover documents to suit your project

Value engineering

Quality doesn't have to cost more. We look at design, materials and method before fabrication starts, and suggest changes that keep the strength, cut the cost and speed up the programme.

Right-size the steel

Sections and connections that do the job, no more and no less.

Simplify the build

Details that are quicker to fabricate and safer to erect.

Protect the finish

Coatings and details chosen for Auckland's salty, humid environment.
