Kia ora, we're GT Engineering.
Think big. We build.
Welding, fabrication and steel erection for Auckland and beyond. From screw piles to bridge steel, our crews turn up ready and leave the job finished right.
Steel work done by people who know steel
GT Engineering was founded in 2018 by a group of experienced structural steel engineers who wanted to give Kiwi businesses cost-effective, professional steel services.
We specialise in welding, fabrication and steel erection on site. Our team believes value engineering is part of the job: we give you solutions, not a mere service and product. If we can build it for less without losing quality, we will tell you.

What we do
Ten kinds of steel work, one crew that understands how they connect. Choose a service to see what's included.
Onsite fabrication
We bring the workshop to your site: cut, fit and weld where the steel is needed.
All-positions welding
Flat, horizontal, vertical and overhead welding to AS/NZS and ABS requirements.
Structural steel fabrication and erection
Fabrication and site erection of steel for commercial and industrial buildings.
Screw pile welding
Specialist welding for screw pile foundations: caps, extensions and connections.
Heavy transport repair
Chassis, trailer and truck-body repairs, done quickly so your vehicles are back earning.
Ship repair
Hull, deck and structural steel repairs alongside the wharf or in dock.
Bridge work
Steel repair, strengthening and fabrication on bridges and structures.
Building steel repair
Repair, strengthening and replacement of steel in existing buildings.
Pipework
Pipe fabrication, welding and site tie-ins to specification.
Tunnel steel work
Steel supports, platforms and fixings for tunnels and shafts.
Why builders and owners choose us
We're a small, hands-on company. That means straight answers, direct access to the people doing the work, and no hand-offs.
Value engineering
Before steel is cut, we look for the faster, cheaper way to reach the same result. You get solutions, not just a service.
Founders on the tools
Our directors are structural steel people with more than 15 years of global experience and 8 or more in New Zealand.
Right to the standard
Welding to AS/NZS standards and ABS requirements, in every position, with the records to prove it.
Safety first, always
Site-specific planning, hot-work controls and crews who look after each other and your site.
From first call to finished steel
Every job follows the same clear path, whether it's a single bracket or a full structure.
Tell us the job
Call, email or use the quote form. Drawings, photos or a description are all fine.
Site visit and price
We check the site, confirm the scope and give you a clear written quote.
Plan it safely
Job-specific safety plan, permits and lift planning agreed before we start.
Build and finish
Fabricate, erect or repair, then check, clean up and hand over.
Who we work with
From building sites to the harbour, we work across the parts of the economy that run on steel.
Commercial and industrial buildings
Warehouses, factories, retail and office fit-outs need steel that goes up on programme.
Infrastructure
Bridges, tunnels and civil works need certainty, records and crews who know how to work with principal contractors.
Marine and ports
Vessels and wharf steel work in a salty, unforgiving environment.
Transport and fleet
Trucks, trailers and equipment that need to be back in service, not in the yard.
Repair and strengthening
Existing buildings and structures that need corrosion repair, upgrades or seismic strengthening.
Foundations and piling
Screw piles, caps and connections for builders, developers and homeowners.
How we work, in te reo Māori
We work in Aotearoa, and these values guide how we treat people, land and each other.
Looking after clients, crews and neighbours as we'd want to be looked after.
Best results come when engineers, builders and steel crews work as one team.
Minimising waste, protecting the site and leaving it in better shape than we found it.
We build long-term relationships with clients and crews, not one-off transactions.
Got a job in mind? Tell us about it.
Send drawings, photos or just a description. We'll come back with straight answers and a clear price.
